BEHIND THE DESIGN
What goes into making a vehicle wrap successful? In this video series with 3M Films and Computaleta we go behind the scenes to show the process of wrapping our own fleet from start to finish.
In this video Scott and Chelsea discuss the thinking behind the graphic design aspects and some of the challenges when designing across a whole fleet of vehicles.
MATERIAL SELECTION
We have our Design locked in (if you missed it, check out Unwrapped - Part 1) so now it's decision time...
In this video we head down to Computaleta to make some crucial decisions about our colours, textures and the types of vinyl needed to complete our install. We've gone ahead with a combination of 3M Films as they had the perfect colour range that we were looking for along with a few surprise elements that you'll need to watch the rest of the Series for 🙂
APPLICATION
The art of vehicle wrapping, (that's right, it's an art form!!) has increased significantly over the years down to two main reasons... 1) A global community of vehicle wrappers that share content, offer tips and tricks and constantly push the boundaries of what's possible with vinyl wraps. 2) Our material suppliers are constantly bettering their products, using a combination of technology and science to develop new products that can conform more and perform better whilst looking more and more incredible with every release. We've been long term users of the 3M Films range of products and really love the combination of films that we've chosen for this project. In some areas of the vehicle we are up to 4 layers thick in vinyl, which has required a high level of skill and precision to achieve the finished look.
THE BIG REVEAL
OK, so we admit we've dragged this out a little but here it is finally... the BIG Reveal of our latest Wrap! A few months back we started the process of our very own Rebrand and a really important part of that project was our vehicle fleet. Over the years we've always received lots of comments on our vehicle graphics they are one of the most seen and impactful parts of our brand. This video features the bosses Ute, in all it's glory, like a Tiger stalking it's prey... there's so much technique and detail in the way it has been put together, with up to 4 layers of vinyl in some areas, yet the design is simple and effective with a clear message, which is so important. We're really happy with the finished result but more importantly... What Do YOU Think???
TECHNICAL OVERVIEW
In this video we go deep into the types of vinyl and the techniques used to present this wrap. We were stoked to really maximise the 3M range of films and absolutely push the limits of what’s possible these days…. One of the most exciting parts of our industry is the pace at which things are moving it makes for a very exciting future!
ONE MORE SUPRISE
This is the finale and we saved the best till last… if you were loving the design of this wrap just wait till you see it at night!!! This was our first time using the 3M 780MC-10 Reflective vinyl and boy oh boy we are not disappointed!!
